The Vancouver On-Line Users Group e-mail address for list matters is owner-volug-list@interchange.ubc.ca.

Our e-mail list (a.k.a. listserv) is the quickest and easiest method of disseminating information about VOLUG activities and issues to its members. You are encouraged to subscribe to the e-mail list, and to post discussion topics or information of interest to other members. Your ideas, comments or questions about technology issues in libraries (or about VOLUG itself) are all valid discussion topics.

The e-mail list is unmoderated, but you must be a list subscriber in order to post. Both VOLUG members and non-members may subscribe to the list.

A regular list that forwards each individual message, and a weekly digest (a single message containing all postings received in a 1 week period) are available.

JOINING THE LIST

To join the regular list, send the following commands in the body of a message to majordomo@interchange.ubc.ca:

subscribe volug-list
end

To join the digest list, use the commands:

subscribe volug-list-digest
end

The mailing list software will send you an e-mail asking you to confirm your subscription. If you would like to have the messages sent to an e-mail address other than the one you used to subscribe to the list, follow the instructions in the confirmation request to change the address.

You can leave the list at any time by sending the following commands in the body of the message to majordomo@interchange.ubc.ca:

unsubscribe volug-list
end

It's a good idea to unsubscribe from the list if you will be not be using your e-mail account for a while, especially if you are setting up an autoreply function.
